BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Big South divisional leaders meet this weekend in Clinton, S.C. as Presbyterian hosts Campbell in a three game series. North leading Campbell and South leader Presbyterian will begin the series Friday at 3 p.m. in Clinton, S.C. The series will continue Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. at the PC Baseball Complex.

The Camels are 25-5 overall and 6-3 in Big South games after an 8-0 shut out win over Old Dominion Wednesday night. Sophomore righthander Heath Bowers limited the Monarchs to just two hits in six innings of work, striking out three while walking one, fueling CU to its first shutout of the season.

In his last three starts, Bowers has not surrendered an earned run, going 18 2/3 with 10 hits, 15 strikeouts and two walks.

Clayton Brown went 3-for-4 with two RBI, while Brent Graham, Blake Boyce and Trevor Lane also drove in two each. The Camels also defeated North Carolina A&T on the road on Tuesday night 10-2.

With the pair of midweek wins, the Camels set a school record for wins in consecutive seasons with 66. Campbell posted a school single season record 41 victories in 2012. The mark breaks the previous record of 64, set by the 2000 and 2001 squads.

Brown, a junior outfielder, owns a team-best .469 average for the season, reaching base in each of his 24 games and scoring 19 runs. That streak is surpassed only by Elijah Trail's 30-game line, reaching in every game this season. Trail leads the Camels in home runs (5) and RBI (33), while batting .312.

Senior shortstop Brent Graham hits .404 with a .533 on-base percentage, scoring 30 runs and knocking in 24, while Ben McQuown hits .375 with 41 runs scored and 32 stolen bases. McQuown's 32 steals leads the country and is tied for second in Campbell's single season record book, matching Nic Carter's 2002 total.

On the mound, senior righty Ryan Mattes paces the Camels with a 6-1 record and a 2.68 ERA through a team-high 47 innings. Mattes has won three consecutive starts, allowing a combined four earned runs in 22 innings with 15 strikeouts and four walks.

Junior lefthander Hector Cedano is also 5-2, carrying a 4.28 ERA, while Ryan Thompson is 2-0 with five saves and a 1.21 ERA in 14 appearances.

PC heads into the weekend as the Big South's South Division leader at 5-1 in league games, and 18-12 overall. The Blue Hose are coming off a 13-7 home loss to USC Upstate Tuesday night, after taking two of three from Furman last weekend.

Brandon Paul paces PC with a .313 average and 14 RBI, while Brandon Martin owns a .308 average and eight RBI. Aaron Preston hits .306 with a home run, 19 runs scored and 14 RBI, while Brad Zebedis has collected a team-high 19 RBI to go along with three homers, 22 runs and a .284 average.

The Blue Hose are led by Beau Dees on the mound with a 4-2 record and a 1.94 ERA. Bud Jeter adds a 1.98 ERA and a 4-1 record, while Chandler Knox owns a 2-2 mark with a 4.70 ERA.

The Camels return to Jim Perry Stadium next week, hosting five games in Buies Creek. The week begins with North Carolina A&T on Tuesday, followed by Savannah State on Wednesday. Campbell will host new Big South rival Longwood over the weekend.
