BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell continues its season-opening homestand, hosting Ohio State in a three game series this weekend, March 3-5, at Jim Perry Stadium.
Friday's series opener is set for a 6 p.m. start, with a 3 p.m. first pitch Saturday and a 1 p.m. finale on Sunday.

Campbell is 4-3 on the season, winning both of its weekend series to open 2017. The Camels took 2-of-3 in their opener against Northern Kentucky and followed with another pair of wins over Quinnipiac.
Drew Butler leads the Camels at the plate, hitting .435 with 12 runs scored. The senior is also 9-for-9 on the base paths, pacing a team with 24 stolen bases through seven games. Jimmy Monaghan also hits .375, while Jeff Hahs owns a .364 average with six RBI. Cole Hallum has driven in a team-high 11.
Sophomore right-hander Tyson Messer is 2-0 on the season with a 0.93 ERA through 9 2/3 innings. The Lillington, N.C. native has fanned 10, allowing just one earned run with a .097 batting average against. Allan Winans, a redshirt junior righty, is 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA through one start.
The Camels will be hosting a Big Ten squad for the second straight season. CU took on Minnesota in 2016 in a three game set at Jim Perry Stadium. CU and Ohio State have met on the diamond just once in program history, with the Buckeyes taking a 1996 neutral site meeting 9-5.
Ohio State comes into the series at 3-5 overall after a 1-3 weekend at the Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge in Surprise, Ariz. Zach Ratcliff hits a team-high .367 with a pair of home runs for the Buckeyes, adding six RBI. Brad Cherry has also driven in six, hitting .308.
Adam Niemeyer is 1-1 on the mound with a 3.60 ERA in two starts, striking out three without a walk in 10 innings. Kyle Michalik has been OSU's top option out of the bullpen, carrying an unblemished ERA in 2 2/3 innings over three appearances.
Next up for Campbell will be its first road test of the season, heading to Georgia Southern for a two game midweek set March 7-8. The Camels return home on Friday, March 10, beginning a three game series with Evansville.
