BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell heads back on the road this weekend, April 7-9, traveling to High Point for a three-game Big South series.
The action begins Friday at 7 p.m. at Williard Stadium, continuing with a 2 p.m. start on Saturday and a 1 p.m. first pitch in Sunday's finale.
The Camels are 15-14 on the season, winners in eight of their last 10 outings, including a 4-2 victory at UNCW on Tuesday night. The win moved CU above the .500 mark for the first time since March 4. Campbell is 4-2 in Big South play through two weekends, taking 2-of-3 at Gardner-Webb and against Charleston Southern.
Matthew Barefoot leads the Camels with a .373 average, adding 31 RBI and seven home runs on the season. Jeff has also hits .360 with five home runs and 27 RBI, while Kyle Mehl bats .333. Cole Hallum also owns 27 RBI, hitting .286 for CU.
The Panthers are 14-14 overall and 3-6 in Big South games, most recently taking a 9-5 win at North Carolina A&T on Tuesday. HPU won 2-of-3 over Gardner-Webb last weekend for its first Big South series win of the season after falling at Liberty and Winthrop.
Carson Jackson leads the Panthers with a .297 average, adding 17 RBI and six home runs, while Austen Zente hits .273 with 23 RBI and seven home runs. Drew Daczkowski is 2-3 on the mound with a 3.65 ERA in seven starts, while Matt Hodges is 5-1 out of the bullpen.
Campbell returns to Jim Perry Stadium on Tuesday, April 12, hosting Duke. The Camels host Radford in a three-game Big South series, April 13-15.
