Camels host Duke Wednesday

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell returns to Jim Perry Stadium, hosting Duke Wednesday, April 12, at 6 p.m.

Wednesday will be the first of four straight games on consecutive days for the Camels at Jim Perry Stadium. CU also hosts Radford in a Big South series April 13-15.

Campbell comes into the midweek matchup at 16-16 on the season, taking its first Big South series loss of the season last weekend at High Point.

Matthew Barefoot leads the Camels with a .364 average and 33 RBI, while Jeff Hahs bats .353 with 32 RBI. Barefoot, Hahs and Cole Hallum each have seven home runs for the Camels, with Hallum adding a .293 average and 29 RBI.

Zach Minnick also owns a .311 average, while Drew Butler hits .283 with 29 runs scored. Through 32 games, Butler leads the NCAA in stolen bases with 23.

On the mound, Alex Yarem is 2-0 with a 3.77 ERA in 45 1/3 innings, while Harry Thomas owns a 4.25 ERA and a 2-1 record. Ryan Kirk is also 3-3 for the Camels.

The Blue Devils head into Wednesday's matchup at 17-17 on the season, coming off a 1-2 weekend at Miami. Griffin Conine paces Duke with a .323 mark and 37 RBI, notching eight homers and 35 runs scored. Ryan Day leads the Blue Devils on the mound with a 2-2 record and a 2.11 ERA.

Campbell has taken six of the last eight meetings with Duke, with the teams splitting a pair of midweek contests in 2016. Duke leads the all-time series 19-14.

The Camels begin a three game Big South series with Radford on Thursday, April 13, at 6 p.m. The set continues Friday at 3 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. start Saturday. Campbell travels to North Carolina Central on Tuesday, April 18.
