Baseball travels to ECU for final midweek test

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell heads to East Carolina Tuesday, May 16, for its final midweek outing of 2017. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. at Clark-LeClair Stadium in Greenville, N.C.

Campbell is 23-28 on the season after falling in 2-of-3 at Big South leader Winthrop.

Matthew Barefoot leads the Camels on the season, batting .344 with 46 RBI on 30 extra-base hits, including 22 doubles and eight home runs.

Jeff Hahs adds a .317 average with 10 home runs and 40 RBI, while Cole Hallum hits .281 with 10 home runs and 49 RBI. Drew Butler remains the nation's leader in stolen bases with 36, adding a .301 average with 49 runs scored.

On the mound, Wes Noble is 4-2 with a 3.48 ERA in 54 1/3 innings. Alex Yarem owns a 2-0 record with a 3.82 ERA, while Harry Thomas is 2-2 with a 3.81 ERA.

The Pirates head into Tuesday's contest at 27-25 on the season, coming off a home series win over Memphis. Eric Tyler hits a team-best .355 with six home runs and 36 RBI, while Spencer Brickhouse owns nine home runs with 26 RBI. Chris Holba is 3-1 with a 2.13 ERA and a save in 10 appearances.

Earlier this season, ECU, then ranking No. 18 nationally, claimed a 10-0 win over the Camels in Buies Creek.

Campbell rounds out the regular season May 18-20, hosting Longwood in a Big South series.
