BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell notched its second shutout of the season, blanking Longwood 11-0 Friday afternoon at Jim Perry Stadium.
Campbell moves to 25-29 on the season and 10-13 in Big South play, while Longwood drops to 18-34 overall and 6-17 in conference games. The Camels also took Thursday's series opener 9-4, claiming the Big South series.
Ben Calvano's two-run double in the sixth made it 11-0 Camels.
Jones went 2-for-4 with four RBI, scoring twice and adding his fifth home run of the season in the win. Minnick also posted a 2-for-4 day with two RBI and two runs. Minnick's RBI ground-rule double was part of a two-run first inning.
Cole Hallum also scored twice, going 3-for-4 with two doubles.
Ryan Kirk (4-6) earned the win, going four shutout innings with two strikeouts and two walks, scattering three hits. Tyson Messer worked three innings in relief, allowing three hits with a strikeout and a walk. Bryce Cota and Wyatt Tyson also tossed scoreless frames.
Steven Farkas (2-3) was charged with the loss, allowing six runs, five earned, on eight hits with four strikeouts and a walk.
Nathan Iskowitz led the Lancers at the plate, going 2-for-3.
The series concludes Saturday with a 2 p.m. first pitch. Prior to Saturday's game, Campbell's six seniors, Drew Butler, Ben Calvano, Erik Dowse, Cole Hallum, Phil Stokes and Adam Wyse, will be recognized. Additionally, the Jim and Daphne Perry Pavilion will be dedicated.
The Big South Baseball Championship begins May 23 in Lexington, S.C. at the Lexington County Baseball Stadium.
