BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell officially opened training camp on Wednesday, holding the team's first practice of the 2013 season.
The practice kicked off the first training camp under new CU head coach Mike Minter, who was named the second head coach of the modern era on November 27. Minter officially announced his first coaching staff on Dec. 20.
The session kicked off at 3 p.m. on Ed Gore Field at the under construction Barker-Lane Stadium.
The coaching staff began installing the playbook, and put the team through various positional drills, as well as its first conditioning.
Camp closes on Saturday, Aug. 24 with Fan Appreciation Day, giving Fighting Camel fans a chance to meet Campbell Football players and coaches, as well as tour the facility.
The 2013 season will begin on Aug. 31 at Charlotte. The team's six-game home schedule will start with UVa.-Wise on Sept. 7 at 6 p.m.
