BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell head football coach Mike Minter will be the featured speaker Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the weekly Raleigh Sports Club meeting.

The former NFL standout with the Carolina Panthers and Nebraska national champion is in his first season as head coach in Buies Creek, where his Camels are off to a 1-2 start and rank fifth in the nation in rushing yards per game with 282.7.

In the Camels' 56-21 week two win over UVa.-Wise, the home debut for Minter, the team set school records for total offense (659) and rushing yards (513).

The Raleigh Sports Club was formed in 1964 with 12 members who loved sports and wanted to recognize local high school student-athletes. 2013-14 marks the club's 50th year. The club now stands at nearly 350 members and recognizes a high school student-athlete at each weekly meeting.

Weekly meetings are held in Bradley Hall at Highland United Methodist Church, 1901 Ridge Rd., Raleigh, at the corner of Lake Boone Trail, just inside the I-440 Beltline, running from noon to 1:00 p.m.

The guest speaker's portion of the club's meeting will be recorded, edited for time and played back in a 30 minute slot on "The Ticket" on 99.9HD3 radio (Capitol Broadcasting). The radio station's audio is also streamed at wralsportsfan.com. Listeners can also listen to the stream through an app on their smart phone.

Week four of the 2013 season holds a bye for Minter and the Camels. CU will open Pioneer Football League play on the road in its next outing, heading to Valparaiso on Sept. 28.
