OAKVILLE, ONTARIO – Campbell University graduates Brad Fritsch and David Mathis are paired together in this week's PGA Tour event, the RBC Canadian Open.

Fritsch (Class of 2000) and Mathis ('97) will compete at the Glen Abbey Golf Club in Fritsch's native Ontario in the $5.6 million purse.  The duo will start Thursday at 1:45 p.m. from the first tee along with American Colt Knost.

One of 17 Canadians in the field, Fritsch, 35, is a PGA TOUR rookie after graduating from the Tour.  He currently holds the all-important 125th spot in the FedExCup standings after making 16 cuts in 21 starts, including a ninth-place finish at the Farmers Insurance Open. The top 125 on the FedExCup points list qualify for the Playoffs.

A two-time Academic All-American and Campbell, Fritsch has made the cut in seven of his last eight events, including a 26th-place finish last weekend at the Sanderson Farms Championship.  He stands 37th among tour players in greens in regulation and has earned $415,984 in prize money this season.

Mathis, a native of Winston-Salem who now resides in Wake Forest, N.C., has made the cut in four of his last five outings.  A two-time Big South all-conference performer ('93, '94), Mathis is currently 189th in the FedEx Cup standings and has taken home $119,132 in winnings this year.
