High Point ends Campbell men’s soccer win streak

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Michael Chesler had 10 saves and High Point ended Campbell's 4-game men's soccer win streak by a 2-0 score Tuesday night at Vert Stadium.

Ryan Bennett scored in the 22nd minute and Karo Okiomah tacked on the clincher with just one second remaining in the second half for the Panthers (7-9-2, 3-4-1 Big South), who won their second-straight game.

Campbell (9-7-2, 5-3-0) was shutout for the first time since a 2-0 setback Sept. 24 at then number-14 Charlotte.

Through CU's first seven Big South matches, the Camels out-scored their opponents by an 18-12 margin and held a 152-76 edge in shots.  CU scored three goals in each of its previous four games – all wins in conference play

On Tuesday, however, Chesler turned away each of Campbell's 10 shots on goal – seven in the final period.  Despite holding a 19-17 edge in total shots, High Point only had six on target.

Campbell keeper Ethan Hall made four saves.

The Camels conclude the regular season on Saturday in a 12:00 p.m. kick-off at 10th-ranked Coastal Carolina.
