FAIRFAX, VA. -- Wes Sever scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 69th minute, then added an insurance strike in the 85th to lead George Mason to a 3-1 pre-season win over Campbell Saturday.

Justin Franz equalized from the penalty spot in the 48th minute for Campbell, which opens its regular season at home Friday with a 7 p.m. kick-off against North Carolina State.

Mason went ahead in the 11th minute on Matt Tucker's goal that beat Camel keeper Ethan Hall to the lower right corner of the net.

Julio Arjona's cross found Sever in the box and his strike past Camel backup keeper Matthew Mozynski gave Mason a 2-1 lead after 68 minutes.  Sever then intercepted a pass in the Camel end and scored with just 5:05 remaining to provide the final cushion.

George Mason finished with a 12-6 edge in shots, 5-2 in attempts on target.  Hall and Mozynski had one save each in the Camel nets.
