BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Currently riding a four-match win streak, the Fighting Camels are set to travel to Conway, S.C. for two matches this weekend. CU will face the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Friday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Coastal Carolina Tennis Complex. The next day, the Camels will take on the Mountaineers of Appalachian State in a neutral site matchup, scheduled to start Saturday at noon.

The Camels (5-1) are off to their best start since 2011, when CU opened the season at 7-1. Campbell sophomore Gerard Sola has yet to lose a match this season, going 5-0 in singles play and 4-0 in doubles with partner Jonathan O'Neal. Sophomore Dustin Werner is also undefeated in singles this spring with a record of 4-0. Nicolas Rakitin and Lukas Schaefer are each riding four-match win streaks at No. 1 and 2 singles, while the duo also holds a three-match win streak in doubles.

Coastal Carolina enters Friday's match at 3-2 this spring. Most recently, the Chanticleers fell at home to the UNCW Seahawks in a close one, 4-3. Vuk Velickovic leads CCU at the No. 1 singles spot and has won his last two matches. Jose Ortega plays near the bottom of the lineup, but owns the best record on the team at 4-0 in singles play this spring. None of Coastal's doubles pairings have earned winning records this season, but Ortega/Francesco Migliano sit at 2-2 on the year.

The Mountaineers currently own a 3-3 record this season. Last weekend, App. State suffered back-to-back losses to Richmond and East Carolina, falling 4-1 in both contests. At the No. 1 spot, Scott Webster has a team-high three singles wins this season. Jack Maddocks also has three wins, typically playing on court two this spring. The Mountaineers' doubles duo of Milo Bargeron and Trey Morris owns a 3-1 record to lead App. State.

Following the matches, the Camels will return home to host the UNC Greensboro Spartans on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at the Nisbet Tennis Center. For the most up-to-date information on Campbell tennis, follow @GoCamelsTennis on Twitter.
