BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Fighting Camels are back in action as they host their second home match of the week against the East Carolina Pirates. The match is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 24 at 1 p.m. at the James R. Nisbet Tennis Center.

Campbell (8-1) has won its last seven matches and is off to its best start since opening the season at 9-1 in 2011. The Camels are a perfect 4-0 at home this spring, most recently defeating the UNC Greensboro Spartans, 6-1. Campbell sophomore Gerard Sola is the reigning Big South Men's Player of the Week as he has not been defeated in singles (8-0) or doubles (7-0 with Jonathan O'Neal) this season. Fernando Clemente was also named the Come Ready Nutrition Freshman of the Week and is currently riding a six-match singles win streak.

The Pirates (9-1) bring an undefeated road record of 4-0 to Buies Creek. ECU is on a three-match win streak, collecting victories versus App. State (4-1), at Temple (4-3) and at Delaware (7-0). The Camels will be the third Big South opponent that the Pirates have faced this season. ECU defeated both UNC Asheville (5-2) and Presbyterian (4-3) earlier this year.

Following the match, the Camels will take a six-day break between matches before heading to Elon, N.C. to take on the Elon Phoenix. That match is scheduled for Thursday, March 2 at 2 p.m. at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. For the most up-to-date information on Campbell tennis, follow @GoCamelsTennis on Twitter.
