BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- The Fighting Camels are set for a Virginia road trip as they face back-to-back Big South opponents to end the week. Campbell is set to visit the Liberty Flames on Thursday, March 9 at 2 p.m. at the Cook Tennis Center in Lynchburg, Va. The next day, the Camels will travel to Farmville, Va. to take on the Longwood Lancers at the Lancer Courts, also set for a 2 p.m. start.

Campbell (10-2, 1-0 BSC) is coming off a win in its first conference match of the season over UNC Asheville, 5-2. Camel sophomore Gerard Sola has been on a tear this spring, owning an 11-0 singles record as well as a 9-1 ledger with partner Jonathan O'Neal in doubles. Freshman Fernando Clemente and Lorenz Schwab have each won eight of their last 10 singles matchups. Campbell junior Dustin Werner boasts a 7-2 overall record this season. Nicolas Rakitin and Lukas Schaefer have seen much success in doubles this spring as the duo owns a 7-3 record overall.

Liberty (4-5, 0-1 BSC) most recently fell in a close match to the Lancers, 4-3. Chase Burton and Eddie Gutierrez each have 5-4 records in singles play this spring to lead the Flames. In doubles, Diego Castano and Vince Salas have the best record on the team with a mark of 4-3 this season.  The Flames and Camels share one common opponent this season. Campbell fell to Elon, 6-1, while Liberty also lost to the Phoenix, 5-2.

Longwood (6-1, 1-0 BSC) boasts the best record in the Big South this season with a .857 win percentage. The Camels are a close second with a mark of .833 this spring. Most recently, LU's Amadeo Blasco was named the Big South Freshman of the Week after earning wins against Liberty and N.C. Central to keep his undefeated season alive. Blasco and doubles partner Florian Uffer have collected a 5-2 doubles record this season. The Lancers also faced the Elon Phoenix earlier this season, falling with the same score as Campbell, 6-1.

Following the Longwood match, the Fighting Camels will travel to Clinton, S.C. for their third-straight conference road match against the Presbyterian Blue Hose. That match is set for a noon start on Saturday, March 18 at the Templeton Tennis Courts. For the most up-to-date information on Campbell tennis, follow @GoCamelsTennis on Twitter.
