Camels top Lancers, 4-1

FARMVILLE, Va. -- The Fighting Camels picked up their third-straight Big South win Friday afternoon as they defeated the Longwood Lancers on the road, 4-1. The win moves CU's record to 12-2 on the season and a conference-leading 3-0 in Big South action.

The match began with doubles play as German duo Dustin Werner and Lorenz Schwab notched their second-straight victory on court one, 6-0. Longwood took the match at No. 2 doubles, but Jonathan O'Neal and Gerard Sola won their third-straight to clinch the doubles point, 6-3.

Werner got back on track as he won the first singles match of the day on court three, 6-0, 6-3. Compatriot Lukas Schaefer won his second-straight match at No. 2 singles as he defeated Florian Uffer, 6-1, 6-2. The matched was clinched on court six as Campbell freshman Fernando Clemente picked up a 6-3, 7-6 decision for his third-consecutive victory. The Barcelona, Spain native has now won nine of his last ten matches in singles play. Sola and Schwab's matches went unfinished after the match was clinched.

Up next, the Fighting Camels will travel to Clinton, S.C. for their third-straight conference road match against the Presbyterian Blue Hose.
