BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- The Fighting Camels are back in action Friday afternoon as Campbell hosts the Winthrop Eagles in a Big South men's tennis matchup. The match is set for a 2 p.m. start at the James R. Nisbet Tennis Center.

Campbell (13-3, 3-1 BSC) is coming off a win over the Morgan State Bears, 5-2. Junior Lukas Schaefer is currently riding a team-high four-match win streak in singles play, while sophomore Dustin Werner has won his last three singles matches. Gerard Sola, who opened the season with 12-straight singles wins, looks to snap a two-match losing skid. Sola and doubles partner Jonathan O'Neal most recently recorded their 12th win against Morgan State, a mark that ranks second in the Big South this season.

Winthrop (2-9, 1-1 BSC) most recently earned their first conference win over the UNC Asheville Bulldogs, 5-2. Campbell defeated UNC Asheville with the same result earlier in the season. Another common opponent between the two teams this season is Longwood, who the Eagles fell to, 4-3. The Camels defeated the Lancers on the road, 4-1, on Friday, March 10. Winthrop's top player is Diego Quiroz, who owns a 4-4 record at No. 1 singles this spring, while Josh Ryan holds a 5-2 record on court six for the Eagles.

Following the match, the Camels will host their third-straight home contest against the UC Riverside Highlanders. That match is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28 at the James R. Nisbet Tennis Center. For the most up-to-date information on Campbell tennis, follow @GoCamelsTennis on Twitter.
