Camels visit GWU Tuesday for makeup contest

BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- The Fighting Camels are set to travel to Boiling Springs, N.C. to take on the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs Tuesday afternoon for a makeup contest. The match, originally scheduled for Thursday, April 30, is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. at the GWU Tennis Courts.

Campbell (16-3, 5-1 BSC) has won seven of its last eight matches, including five of its last six in Big South play. Most recently, the Camels defeated the Radford Highlanders, 6-1, for their tenth-straight home victory. Campbell junior Jonathan O'Neal has been a recent hot streak, winning his last five singles matches since entering the lineup on March 18 at Presbyterian. Freshman Fernando Clemente leads the team with 15 singles win this spring and has been named the Come Ready Nutrition Big South Freshman of the Week five times this season. Lorenz Schwab and Dustin Werner have had the most recent success in doubles play, winning their last three matches at Campbell's top doubles spot.

Gardner-Webb (10-11, 4-2 BSC) sits third in the Big South standings and has won six of its last eight matches. The Runnin' Bulldogs are led by reigning Big South Player of the Week Maxmillian Scholl who owns a record of 15-3 in singles play this season. Paul Hogan and Johan Fors make up GWU's top doubles duo as they own a 6-3 record this spring. The Camels and Runnin' Bulldogs have faced three common non-conference opponents this season. CU went 2-1 agaisnt UNC Greensboro, USC Upstate and Charlotte while GWU lost to all three.

Following the match, the Camels will face a quick turnaround as they host the South Carolina State Bulldogs on Thursday, April 6. That contest is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. at the James R.
