BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- Campbell junior Lorenz Schwab clinched the 4-2 win for the Fighting Camels over the South Carolina State Bulldogs Wednesday afternoon at the James R. Nisbet Tennis Center. Campbell has notched 17 wins this spring, which ties for the third-most in program history.

Campbell (17-4, 5-2 BSC) opened the match with doubles play as Schwab and Dustin Werner earned their fifth-straight win on court one, defeating Figura/Mouline, 6-3. The doubles point was clinched on court two, where Jonathan O'Neal and Gerard Sola picked up their 15th win of the spring by a score of 6-4. Louis Monterosso and Fabien Ayet represented CU at No. 3 doubles, but the match went unfinished with the duo trailing 4-5.

The Camels did not back down in singles play, winning three of five matches to clinch the overall victory. Campbell senior Nicolas Rakitin made quick work of his opponent on court three, earning a 6-2, 6-1 win over Soufiane Mouline. SCSU's first win of the match came at No. 1 singles as Martin Figura downed Werner, 6-4, 6-3.

After dropping the first set, Sola took the next two to claim his 16th win this season with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, and give Campbell a 3-1 lead. The Bulldogs brought the match within one as Fernando Clemente was defeated by Stanislav Baco, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3. It was just the fifth loss for the Campbell freshman this season.

Schwab dominated his match quickly to clinch Campbell's 11th-straight home victory this spring. At No. 6 singles, he defeated Cyprian Owczarz, 6-2, 6-1. O'Neal's match at No. 5 singles went unfinished as he trailed, 3-6, 3-5.
