CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Junior first baseman Raven Lee (Battleboro, N.C.) was honored for the second time this season as the Big South Choice Hotels Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday. She posted a .417 avg. and .917 slugging pct. in helping Campbell to three non-conference victories.
The Battleboro, N.C., native tallied two mulit-hit games as she registered five hits on the week including a pair of homers and six RBI. She currently ranks in a tie for second on the program's single-season home runs (16) and RBI (61) charts.
Lee started off with a 2-for-3 performance at UNC Wilmington that included an RBI single and solo homer.
She drove in a run on a base knock as a part of a three-run first inning for the Camels in game one at Hampton. Lee delivered the knockout punch in game two at Hampton, a three-run homer in the top of the seventh that put the Camels on top 9-3.
Following the first week of the campaign, Lee was given her first recognition of the season after going 5-for-10 at the plate with three homers and 11 RBI.
This was the seventh weekly honor of the season for the Camels and the first repeat selection. Sophomore outfielder Stephanie Jones (Black Mountain, N.C.), freshman catcher Courtney Klingler (Alvin, Texas) have joined Lee as a player of the week, while pitchers freshman Courtney Roberts (Simpsonville, S.C.), sophomore Julia Callicutt (Asheboro, N.C.) and senior Brittany Arnn have also been acknowledged.
