BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell softball program hosts its annual summer camp at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium set to start on July 14 and run through July 17. The camps are for ages 8-18, and information can be found at CamelsSoftballCamps.com.
The three-day camp has filled up. A separate pitcher/catcher camp is set for July 17-18, still has a few spots remaining.
The 2012 camp saw a record 148 participants as attendance has steadily increased over the past decade.
"I believe the camp's success has been a result of an excellent staff of coaches from several different universities in the Carolinas and Georgia, and many of the Campbell student-athletes," said head coach Drew Peterson. "Most of these coaches and players have been a part of our camp for multiple years, allowing our continuity and excellence in detail to advance. We have focused on maintaining a 10-1 teaching ratio with the goal of providing top flight instruction, a safe and well supervised flow of activities. However, everything comes together as it is executed with a Christ centered philosophy in mind."
Over the years 23 of our former, current and future Softball team members have been campers, and some of which have been recruited directly as a result of their performance. On a larger scale, many campers have also been recruited by the visiting college coaches on the camp staff.
