CONWAY, S.C.Katie Baker and Holly Brooks gave Campbell two strong pitching efforts to lead CU in a Saturday sweep at the Chanticleer Invitational.

Baker pitched a complete game shutout in game one to lead Campbell to a 5-0 victory over Morehead State. Game two saw Brooks pitch 8.2 innings in CU's 9-5 victory over Penn State in 10 innings. Baker was tabbed with the win in game two in a relief effort.

Game one: Campbell 5, Morehead State 0

Campbell (8-6) scored five runs in the bottom of the third inning on its way to a 5-0 victory over Morehead State.

With the bases loaded in the bottom of the third, Taesha DuBoise reached on an error that scored Chandler Patterson and put Campbell ahead 1-0.

One batter later, Abby Perryman notched her lone hit of the day with a two-RBI double down the left field line. The hit scored Madison Casto and Jessica Anderson to extend Campbell's lead to 3-0.

Caroline Smith capped off the scoring for CU with a two-RBI single to score Perryman and DuBoise to increase the lead to five.

Each side tallied only one hit the rest of the way, as Baker limited the Eagles to three hits on the afternoon. Four of Campbell's five hits came during the scoring outburst in the third inning.

Campbell's senior hurler (2-3) struck out four in her second complete game of the season. Megan Tymorek (1-2) allowed five earned runs on five hits in the loss for the Eagles.

Game two: Campbell 9, Penn State 5 [F/10]

A four-run 10th inning propelled Campbell (9-6) to a 9-5 victory over Big Ten opponent, Penn State (5-6), in Saturday's nightcap.

DuBoise went 3-for-4, scoring twice and collecting two RBI. Amber Schisler and Smith also tallied multi-hit performances for Campbell.

Shelby Miller went 3-for-5 with a pair of runs and two RBI to lead the Nittany Lions. Mollie Sorenson hit 2-for-3 and drew a pair of walks in the game.

After both sides scored once in the ninth inning, Campbell scored four runs and chased PSU pitcher Madison Shaffer in the tenth for the win.

Madison Casto started the inning on second due to the international tiebreaker rule and advanced to third on DuBoise's sacrifice bunt. Schisler reached on a throwing error by the shortstop, which allowed Casto to score the go-ahead run.

The Campbell lead doubled as Smith's RBI single plated Schisler. After a wild pitch scored Mozingo, Bailey Bjorson hit an infield single to push the lead to four.

With the exception of the runner on second, Campbell held Penn State to zero base runners in the bottom half of the inning to seal the win.

Miller's two out, two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh tied the game and forced extra innings.

CU led twice throughout the game, 1-0 in the first and 4-2 in the fifth and Penn State's lone lead came in the second, 2-1, after a two-RBI double.

Brooks pitched 8.2 innings for the Camels, the longest outing of her career. Baker (3-3) picked up the win in 1.1 innings of hitless relief work.

Shaffer (0-1) took the loss in five innings of work, allowing five runs on four hits. Penn State starter, Marliana Laubach, allowed four runs on five hits in 4.2 innings of action.
