Softball drops second game Wednesday to Lipscomb

NASHVILLE, TENN. – Lipscomb scored four unanswered in its final two innings to top Campbell 5-2 Wednesday evening at Draper Diamond.

Hannah DeVault had a 2-for-3 day with two RBI. Sarah Higgins and Abby White combined for a 2-for-2, two RBI and two walk outing.

Madison Herring and Taesha DuBoise each posted 3-for-4 performances, with one RBI each for the Camels. DuBoise's lone RBI was in the first, a double to left center that scored Herring from second.

Herring gave Campbell a 2-1 lead in the top of the fifth inning with her first home run of the season and second of her career.

DeVault's RBI single in the fifth tied the game for Lipscomb and White's 2-RBI single pushed the home side ahead 4-2.

Caitlin Plocheck's solo home run in the sixth added to the lead for Lipscomb for the final score margin.

Mandy Jordan (10-2) went the distance in the win, allowing two earned and fanning 12. Katie Baker (5-5) allowed seven hits and walked five in the loss.

Campbell will travel to Greensboro, N.C. for the Spartan Classic, beginning Friday at 12:30 p.m. against Delaware, followed by a 5:30 p.m. contest versus the host UNCG.
