UNC downs Campbell 6-0 Tuesday evening

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - UNC limited Campbell to three hits to take a 6-0 victory inside Amanda Littlejohn Stadium Tuesday evening.

Berlynne Delamora went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI and a walk. Taylor Wike and Leah Murray posted 2-for-4 days, combining for three RBI and three runs to lead the Tar Heels.

Taesha DuBoise, Caroline Smith, and Megan Mozingo each tallied hits for the Camels in the contest. Abby Perryman drew a game-high two walks.

UNC opened the scoring with three runs in the top of the third. A throw down to second went into the outfield, which allowed Micaela Abbatine to score the opening run and moved Leah Murray to third. One batter later, Wike's ground out to second allowed Murray to score. The final run of the inning came on Katie Bailiff's RBI single. 

The visitors scored three more runs in the top of the seventh inning. Wike's triple scored two and Delamora plated Wike on a RBI single to reach the final score line. 

Sydney Matzko (3-2) picked up the win for the Tar Heels in four innings of work, allowing two hits and striking out six. Brittany Pickett earned the save in three innings of work, allowing one hit and fanning three.

Katie Baker (6-6) pitched six innings, allowing 11 hits and six earned in the loss. Amber Schisler pitched the seventh, allowing zero hits and striking out two.

Campbell opens up Big South play at home against Longwood, Saturday, March 18 with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
