BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell scored nine unanswered, including seven in the sixth to take a 9-2 win over Longwood Sunday afternoon inside Amanda Littlejohn Stadium. With the win, Campbell claimed its first series win against Longwood since the Lancers joined the Big South in 2013.

Amber Schisler went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs and Caroline Smith had a 2-for-4, three RBI and one run performance to lead the Camels. Taesha DuBoise and Jessica Anderson also tallied multi-hit days, combining for three runs.

Kaylynn Batten had the lone multi-hit day for the Lancers, going 2-for-2 and drawing a pair of walks.

With a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the sixth, Campbell exploded for seven runs to take a 9-2 lead. Anderson's lone RBI of the day began the scoring as her single scored Megan Mozingo. Four straight batters then drove in runs for the Camels to cap off the inning.

Madison Herring's lone hit, a RBI single, scored one. DuBoise reached on a fielding error that allowed two more to score and put the Camels ahead by four. On the next two pitches, Campbell scored three as Schisler drove in DuBoise and Smith connected on a two-run home run. Schisler threw just five pitches in the top of the seventh to seal the Campbell win.

Longwood opened the scoring in the fourth on Jessica Smith's RBI single. Smith later scored from second on a Campbell fielding miscue. The Camels answered in the bottom half of the fourth, courtesy Schisler's RBI triple down the line and Smith's RBI single.

Katie Baker (7-6) picked up the win in two innings of work, yielding just one hit and striking out two. Sydney Gay went the distance for Longwood, taking the loss in six innings of work, allowing 10 hits and nine runs.

Campbell returns to action with a pair of midweek, non-conference matchups. Tuesday at 5 p.m. the Camels will travel to ECU for a single game. Wednesday, CU heads to Wilmington for a single game against UNCW beginning at 6 p.m.
