UNCW slips by Campbell 1-0 in 13 innings Wednesday night

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Lauren Moore's RBI single in the bottom of the 13th gave UNCW a 1-0 win over Campbell Wednesday evening inside Boseman Field.

After the first two batters reached for UNCW in the bottom of the 13th, Lauren Moore tallied her lone hit of the game to deep centerfield. The hit scored Kali Jones from third to clinch the win. 

Campbell's offense was led by Melissa Tullar's 3-for-4 performance. She tallied the lone extra base hit of the night, a double in the top of the ninth inning. Madison Casto, Taesha DuBoise, and Katie Baker tallied the other three hits for CU. 

Merritt Wilkinson's 4-for-5 day paced the Seahawk offense in the contest. She was a perfect 4-for-4 before striking out in the bottom of the 12th inning. Hannah Adamczyk posted the other multi-hit stat line of the night, tallying a pair of singles in the 11th and 13th.

The two teams combined for 15 hits on the day, split 9-6 in favor of UNCW. Both sides played flawless defense, with neither team committing an error. 

Sarah Davis (8-3) pitched one inning, giving up just one hit in the win. Peyton Jordan pitched 12 innings in the start, yielding only five hits and striking out 10.

Amber Schisler (6-5) took the loss in one inning of work, allowing two hits and one run. Katie Baker pitched 11 innings in the start, giving up just seven hits.

Campbell returns to Big South play with a three-game series at Presbyterian, beginning with a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m.
