CU travels to PC for weekend series March 25-26

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Big South play continues for Campbell softball March 25-26 in Clinton, S.C. as Campbell will take on Presbyterian College in a three-game set.

Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. with game three scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The Camels enter the weekend with a 17-17 overall record and a 2-1 mark in Big South play. Presbyterian has an 11-19 overall mark and is winless in three conference contests.

Campbell Fighting Camels

Campbell enters the weekend coming off a pair of tight, non-conference losses during the midweek. Tuesday, CU fell 6-5 to ECU on a seventh inning two-run, walk off home run. On Wednesday, the Camels dropped a 13-inning game at UNCW, 1-0.

Amber Schisler paces the Campbell offense with a .396 batting average, 32 RBI, and 10 home runs. Madison Herring maintains a perfect 20-for-20 on the base paths. Along with Schisler, six other batters have a .300-plus batting average.

Katie Baker posts a team-best 3.75 ERA in 23 appearances. She eclipsed 100 innings pitched on the year with her 12-inning performance against UNCW Wednesday. Baker has a 7-6 overall record and five complete games. Schisler has a sub-4.00 era at 3.82, a 6-5 overall record in 19 appearances for the Camels

Presbyterian College Blue Hose

PC's lone conference series on the 2017 season was March 18-19 at Winthrop. The Eagles defeated the Blue Hose 6-2, 9-1, and 7-3 during the three-game series. Most recently, Presbyterian split a doubleheader with Western Carolina, taking game one 11-3 and falling 3-2 in game two.

Hope Rogers (.322) and Megan Anderson (.303) lead the team with .300-plus batting averages. The duo has combined for 29 RBI. Rogers' six doubles and four triples lead the team. Jonnie Petree has an 18-for-20 mark on the base paths.

Katie Brown has a 5-8 mark in the circle to lead the staff. She has pitched 71 innings, including seven complete games. Alex Cook has a team-best 2.68 ERA, with Brown sitting second on the team at 4.14.

Campbell will continue Big South play April 1-2 with a three-game set at home against the Liberty Flames. Saturday's doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. with game three Sunday at 1 p.m.
