PC takes 6-3 win Sunday, CU wins the series


CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian avoided a series sweep on Sunday as it took a 6-3 win over Campbell at the PC Softball Complex.

Hope Rogers went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run scored, including a grand slam in the bottom of the second. Courtney White posted a 2-for-3 outing, scoring once for the Blue Hose.

Bailey Bjorson led the Campbell with a 1-for-2 day and two RBI. Five other Camels tallied a hit in the contest, including Amber Schisler, who went 1-for-1, with one RBI and one run scored.

PC scored five in the bottom of the second to take a 6-1 lead. Blaire Miller drew a bases loaded walk to give PC the one-run lead. Following a pitching change, Rogers connected on her home run to give the home side the five-run lead, 6-1.

Schisler's 11th home run of the season opened the scoring for Campbell, giving CU a 1-0 lead in the first inning. PC answered with one run in the bottom half to tie the game at 1-1.

The Camels closed the gap to three with two runs in the fourth inning. After Abby Perryman and Jessica Anderson reached base, Bjorson's two-RBI single cut the deficit to three, 6-3.

Katie Brown (6-9) earned the win in 3.0 innings, giving up three runs and allowing six hits. Schisler (6-6) took the loss for Campbell in 1.1 innings of work, allowing five runs and walking four.

Campbell returns to Amanda Littlejohn Stadium next weekend April 1-2 for a three-game set against Liberty, beginning with Saturday's doubleheader at 1 p.m.
