RADFORD, VA. – Campbell claimed a 5-4 victory over Radford Saturday afternoon to sweep the series and pick up its sixth consecutive victory.

The Camels (26-20, 11-4) were led by Caroline Smith and Taylor Campbell who posted 2-for-4 performances, scoring one run each.

Radford's (20-20, 4-8) offense was led by Hannah Medlam's 2-for-3, one run outing. Five other Highlanders recorded a hit on the day, including Kayla Bishton and Brooke Trapuzzano both of whom tallied a pair of RBI on the day.

Campbell opened the scoring in the second inning as a fielding error on Megan Mozingo's sacrifice bunt allowed Abby Perryman to score from second. Later in the inning, Christa Hall doubled down the left field line, which plated Taesha DuBoise from second base.

Radford answered in the bottom half to take a 4-2 lead. Trapuzzano drove in a pair of runs with her double to left centerfield and Bishton drove in two more with a triple to right centerfield.

The Camels answered quickly in top of the third, scoring three to take a one-run lead, 5-4. Taylor Campbell started the scoring with a RBI single to center that scored Caroline Smith.

Two batters later, DuBoise knocked in one run with her bases loaded single to score Perryman. Hall capped off the inning with a two-out, RBI single to left, that pushed CU back in front, 5-4.

Campbell's six wins in a row is the longest winning streak since 2015 when the team won seven in a row.

Katie Baker (13-7) picked up the win in 5.2 innings of scoreless work, allowing just three hits and striking out three. Abby Morrow (14-10) took the loss in a complete game effort, being tagged with nine hits and five runs.
