Aggies get by Camels 1-0 Tuesday evening

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – North Carolina A&T scored the lone run of the game in a 1-0 defeat of Campbell Tuesday evening inside Amanda Littlejohn Stadium.

Zadaisha Waddell limited Campbell (26-21) to only two hits during the contest, picking up the complete game victory.

North Carolina A&T (11-26-1) scored the game's only run in the top of the fourth inning on Waddell's RBI double to center field that scored Talisha Jenkins from first.

Campbell recorded its two hits on a Caroline Smith single in the first and Amber Schisler's infield single in the third inning. Schisler went 1-for-2 as she drew a walk in the sixth inning.

The Aggies scattered eight hits in the game, led by Jenkins and Zadia Davis, who both went 2-for-3 in the contest.

Holly Brooks (3-6) took the loss in six innings of work, allowing seven hits and fanning two. Megan Richards pitched the top of the seventh, allowing just one hit and striking out one. Waddell improved to 7-13 on the year with her victory.

The Camels left seven runners on in the game. Their best chance to score came in the first inning when they left runners on second and third. The Aggies left nine batters on, including five in scoring position.

Campbell returns to action this weekend, April 21-22, against Gardner-Webb in a three-game series. Game one is set for Friday at 5 p.m. with a doubleheader scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday.
