BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell continues its eight-game home stand with a non-conference, single game against North Carolina State, April 26 at 6 p.m.
Wednesday's matchup is the final non-conference game for Campbell in the 2017 season. Last year, CU dropped both games of a doubleheader in Raleigh.
Campbell Fighting Camels (28-22)
Campbell enters the midweek contest after taking 2-of-3 at home against Gardner-Webb. CU split Friday's doubleheader, taking game one 7-3 and falling in the second game, 16-9. The Camels claimed the series with a 5-3 win in game three on Saturday.
Amber Schisler continues her offensive leadership for Campbell, pacing the way in batting average (.415), RBI (44) and home runs (15). Schisler tallied a pair of home runs during the weekend against Gardner-Webb, lifting her season total to 15 and Campbell career total to 31. Madison Herring, the 2017 Amanda Littlejohn Award winner, paces the way on the base paths with 28 stolen bases. Taesha DuBoise and Caroline Smith are tied for second on the team with 24 RBI each, the duo also sits second and third in batting average.
Katie Baker continues to be a mainstay in the circle for the Camels, leading the staff with a 3.10 ERA and a 15-7 record. She picked up a pair of wins over the weekend against Gardner-Webb, pitching14 innings and allowing just three runs in the process. Amber Schisler has a 4.54 ERA with seven wins and 47 strikeouts, second only to Baker on the team.
NC State Wolfpack (16-31)
NC State enters Wednesday's contest, coming off a weekend series against Pitt, where the Wolfpack dropped 2-of-3. Sunday's rubber match was a 4-3 result for the Panthers in nine innings. In its last non-conference matchup, NC State fell to UNCW 6-0 at home.
Tyler Ross leads the offensive output with 38 RBI and a team-high 10 home runs, which compliments her .327 batting average. She has also scored 38 times on the year and has stolen 19 bases on 23 attempts. Jade Caraway leads the team with her .382 batting average and has the third highest RBI total with 20.
Peyton Silverman paces the pitching staff with her 5.21 ERA in 36 appearances. She has pitched 20 complete games and has four shutouts on the year. Brittany Nimmo has seen action in 22 games, including six complete games for the Wolfpack.
Following the exam break, Campbell returns to action May 5-6 to close out the 2017 regular season in a three-game series against Charleston Southern.
