Emily Michael is in her first season as student assistant coach with the swimming program in 2011-12 after seeing her swimming career derailed by injuries following her junior season. She aids Campbell’s swimming program at all practices and meets. 

In 2010-11 she won the 100 breast three times. She earned victories in the 100 breast against Liberty (1:09.48), Radford (1:09.69) and UNC Wilmington (1:10.41). She also had a second place finishes in the 100 breast against College of Charleston and in the 100 butterfly (North Carolina A&T) and placed third in the 100 breast against N.C. State. Overall on the season she ranked fourth on the team in the 100 free (55.14), eighth in the 100 fly (1:04.63) and ninth in the 50 free (26.21).

As a sophomore in 2009-10 she put together 10 top-three individual finishes and won the 100 breast three times. She ranked second on the team in the 100 breast (1:06.82) and the 200 breast (2:29.89), third in the 400 IM (4:53.01), fifth in the 200 IM (2:14.89) and 10thh in the 500 free (5.41.89) 

As a freshman at Campbell in 2008-09 she had 15 top-three individual finishes and ranked second on the team in the 200 breast (2:33.18) and 200 IM (2:15.17), third in the 400 breast (5:40.60) and the 400 IM (4:50.81), fourth in the 100 IM (1:05.18) and fifth in the 1,000 free (11:46.16).

The Pinehurst, N.C. native is working toward her bachelor’s degree in business administration and is on track to graduate in May 2012.
