Swimming tops NC A&T on senior day 110-48

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell swept all events and defeated North Carolina A&T 110-48 Friday on senior night in the Johnson Aquatic Center.

Campbell improved to 10-2 in dual meets this season with the win. Campbell's nine seniors, Kaitlyn Burnette, Cheriesse Campbell, Marissa Coughlin, Virginia Dailey, Erin Francis, Spencer Hopper, Lexie Miller, Maggie Pogue and Kylie Warne, were all recognized in a ceremony prior to the meet.

The Camels opened with a win in the 200 yard medley relay, sweeping the top four spots with a top time of 1:49.63.

Emily Bennett topped the 200 free with a 2:02.21, while Alice Rigback's 25.12 won the 50 free. Carly Bowles then won the 200 IM with a time of 2:18.55 before the first break.

Kaitlyn Burnette posted a 58.90 to win the 100 fly, while Sydney Postmus' 53.78 in the 100 free gave Campbell another individual victory. Sarah Jabusch also won the 100 yard backstroke with her mark of 1:01.85. Campbell raced the final three events as exhibitions

Campbell closes out its home schedule tomorrow, Feb. 1 against UNC Wilmington at 2 p.m. The Camels wrap up the regular season Feb. 8 at East Carolina.
