Camels match school record on day one at CCSA Champs

ATHENS, GA. – Campbell matched a school record in the 200 medley relay and stands fifth in the team standings after day one at the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Swimming and Diving Championships.

Incarnate Word leads the women's team standing with 216 points, followed by Georgia Southern (174), Florida Gulf Coast (140) and Liberty (120). CU sits in a tie for fifth place with Gardner-Webb with 102 points, with UNC Asheville (98), North Florida (92), Howard (84) and VMI (40) rounding out the board.

Campbell kicked off the meet with a third place showing in the 200 medley relay, tying a program record with a time of 1:44.23, led by Megan Everritt, Taylor McMinn, Caroline Clark and Michelle Case. The mark matched the team's record from the 2015 CCSA Championships.

The Camels followed with a sixth place showing in the 800 free relay, clocking in at 7:34.08, a season-best in the event.

Action resumes Thursday at 10 a.m. with preliminary rounds. Thursday's finals will begin at 6 p.m. The CCSA Championships run through Saturday at the Gabrielson Natatorium on the campus of the University of Georgia.
