Men's and women's indoor track selected second in Big South poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Campbell men's and women's indoor track & field teams have both been selected by the league's coaches to finish second in the Big South Championships, the conference office announced Thursday afternoon.

The men's team received one first-place vote, four second-place votes and two third-place votes to total 41 points in the coaches' poll. The Campbell men are coming off a third-place finish at last year's indoor championships, with returners Davian Rhodes (high jump), Amon Terer (3000m, 5000m), Lorne Jenkins (long jump, 4x400) and Chigozie Atavwigho (4x400) earning all-conference honors.

The women's team received seven second-place votes and one third-place vote to total 55 points in the coaches' poll. Campbell's women are also coming off a third-place finish at the 2016 Big South Indoor Championships. Returners Sabina Allen (long jump, triple jump), Lilla Juhasz (60m, 60m hurdles), Shenelle McKay (high jump), Joan Maritim (5000m), Tatiana Wolfe (60m hurdles), Kelsey Rea (4x400), Racheal Brown (4x400), Roshae Jackson (4x400) and Amina Alvarez Barkane (4x400) all earned all-conference honors last season, while head coach Michael Kelly was named Women's Coach of the Year.

The Liberty men's and women's teams were each selected to finish first in the Big South by the league's coaches. The conference meet is set for Feb. 25-26, 2017.

Campbell's indoor season gets started this weekend as CU travels to Winston Salem, N.C. for the UNCG Early Bird Duals. The meet is set to begin at noon on Sunday, Dec. 4. For the most up-to-date information on Campbell track & field, follow @GoCamelsRun on Twitter.
