Indoor track set for UNCG Dual Meet Madness Sunday

Campbell indoor track & field is set to compete at the UNCG Dual Meet Madness this weekend at the JDL Fast Track in Winston Salem, N.C on Sunday, January 29.

The one-day meet is scheduled for a 10:30 a.m. start with the men's and women's shot put. Running events begin at 11:00 a.m. with the women's 60m hurdles. The final event of the meet will be the men's 4x400 relay, scheduled to begin a 5:00 p.m.

Most recently, CU posted a strong showing in Lynchburg, Va. at the 2017 Liberty Kickoff, recording 17 top-five finishes and setting 16 personal bests on the day. In the men's mile, Amon Terer, Kelvin Kirui, Amon Kemboi and Meshack Kipruto finished first, second, third and fourth for the Camels, respectively. Lilla Juhasz put up the fastest 60m hurdles in the Big South this season at 8.63, while Roshae Jackson's 4:14.20 in the 800m was also a top mark in the conference. In addition, Lawrence Kipkoech recorded the fastest 1000m in the Big South at 2:29.42.

Following the meet, the Camels will compete separately the following weekend on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 3-4. Part of the team will travel to South Bend, Ind. for the Meyo Invitational, while the rest of the team will compete in the Camel City Elite Invitational in Winston Salem.
