BUIES CREEK, N.C. – With the Big South Indoor Championships on the horizon, the Camels look to improve on their season-best marks one last time as they compete in two meets this weekend. Campbell will send a small group to Clemson, S.C. for the Tiger Tuneup on Friday, Feb. 17, while the rest of the team will head to Winston Salem, N.C. for the UCS Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 18.

At the Tiger Tuneup, Campbell senior Davian Rhodes will get things started as he competes in the men's high jump, scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Rhodes is coming off a 2.15m performance at the Don Kirby Invitational, which currently ranks 25th in the NCAA. Based on last year's final results, he would need to clear a mark of 2.18m to enter the top-16 and qualify for the NCAA Indoor National Championships.

Campbell will also be sending its top female sprinters and hurdlers to the Tiger Tuneup. Lilla Juhasz and Tatiana Wolfe are set to compete in the 60m hurdles, looking to improve on their respective season-best marks of 8.40 and 8.62, which rank first and third in the conference this year. Juhasz, Isis Brooks and Deonica Reid will compete in the 60m dash, an event where they all rank inside the top-five in the Big South. Racheal Brown, Janai Scott and Tatiana Wolfe will compete in the women's 400m, and CU will end the day with Brooks, Jocelyn Culbreath and Scott running the women's 200m.

The rest of the indoor squad is set to compete at the UCS Invitational, hosted by the JDL Fast Track. Kelvin Kirui and Meshack Kipruto will run the 800m, an event where they rank second and third in Campbell history, respectively. Freshman Casper Duell will make his collegiate debut as he is entered in the 400m and 800m. On the women's side, the Camels will have several distance athletes competing as Amina Alvarez Barkane, Lize Botha, Michaela Louw and Heidi Tuszkiewicz run the women's mile, while Jade Baldwin, Ali Bowen and Madeline Fitch run the 3000m. A full breakdown of the meet's events and competitors can be viewed at the link above.

Following the meets, Campbell will head back to Winston Salem, N.C. for the 2017 Big South Indoor Championships. The championships will be hosted by the JDL Fast Track, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 25-26. For the most up-to-date information on Campbell track & field, follow @GoCamelsRun on Twitter.
