CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Fighting Camels have received two Big South weekly honors this week, the conference office announced Wednesday morning. Campbell senior Lilla Juhasz has been named the Women's Track Athlete of the Week, while junior Kelvin Kirui has been selected as the Men's Track Athlete of the Week.

Juhasz is coming off a historic performance last Friday at the Tiger Tuneup in Clemson, S.C. She broke her own program record in the women's 60m hurdles finals, clocking in at 8.31. It was the seventh indoor record that the Camels have broken this season.

The Rabapaty, Hungary native began the day with an 8.33 in the 60m hurdles prelims, setting a new PR and school record that would eventually be broken once again in the finals. Her performance of 8.31 not only broke Campbell's record, but was the second-fastest time in Big South history and currently ranks 37th in the NCAA this season. Juhasz also excelled in the 60m dash for Campbell, clocking a 7.66 for the fastest time in the conference this season.

Kirui also made history for Campbell this past weekend at the UCS Invitational, breaking the men's indoor 800m program record with a mark of 1:52.99. His time beat the previous record held by Morgan Timiney by .25 seconds, and it was the eighth program record that Campbell has broken this indoor season.

These are the second weekly awards this season for both Juhasz and Kirui, and as a team, the Camels have totaled twelve weekly honors this year. Last week, Campbell became the second team in Big South history to sweep the awards as Sabina Allen, Joan Maritim, Davian Rhodes and Amon Terer were honored. Terer and Juhasz received weekly awards on Feb. 8, while Kirui was honored the previous week on Feb. 1. Rhodes, Marta Segarra-Dionis and Meshack Kipruto were all honored on Jan. 19.

Up next, the Camels compete in the 2017 Big South Indoor Championships in Winston-Salem, N.C. at the JDL Fast Track. The meet is scheduled to run all day on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 25-26. For the most up-to-date information on Campbell track & field, follow @GoCamelsRun on Twitter.
