CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Coming off a successful home meet, the Fighting Camels have earned three Big South Athlete of the Week honors, the conference office announced Thursday afternoon. Campbell junior Sabina Allen was named the Women's Field Athlete of the Week for her performances in the long jump and triple jump. Freshmen sprinters Daequon Carr and Janai Scott each earned Men's and Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors after notching PR's at the Campbell Open.

Allen placed first overall in the women's triple jump and long jump at the 2017 Campbell Open. Her mark of 12.72m in the TJ ranks first in the Big South this season and sits 17th on the 2017 NCAA East Regional qualifying list. In the long jump, Allen put up a performance of 5.91m, just one centimeter off her season-best mark.

Carr notched two PR's in the men's 100m and 200m dashes at Campbell's home meet. His time of 10.66 in the 100m was .25 seconds faster than his previous personal-best and ranks second in the Big South this season. In the 200m, Carr placed first with another PR at 21.92, which was the fastest time for Campbell this season and currently ranks third in the conference.

Scott placed first in the 100m on the women's side with a personal-best mark of 11.91. That time currently ranks third in the Big South this season, only behind teammate Lilla Juhasz and Charleston Southern's Jasmine Pilgrim. Scott also took home gold in the women's 200m at the Campbell Open with a time of 24.30. That mark was just .06 away from her personal-best 24.24, which leads the conference this season.

The Camels have now earned five Big South weekly honors this outdoor season. Amon Kemboi and Joan Maritim were honored on March 29 after two nationally ranked performances in the men's and women's 10,000m at the Raleigh Relays.
