CU competes at Liberty Twilight Qualifier Wednesday

Campbell track & field is back in action this week as the team travels to Lynchburg, Va. for the Liberty Twilight Qualifier. Events will run all day on Wednesday, May 3 at Liberty University's Matthew-Hopkins Outdoor Track.

The first track event of the afternoon will be the men's and women's 100m dash trials. Daequon Carr, who boasts a season-best mark of 10.66, will represent the Campbell men in the event. On the women's side, the freshman duo of Isis Brooks and Janai Scott are entered for CU.

Campbell junior Marcus Mize is entered in the men's 110m hurdles. Mize set a personal-best time of 16.41 at the 2017 Campbell Open and will try to improve on that mark at the Liberty meet.

The Camels will be well-represented in the men's 200m as three athletes are set to compete. Carr, Jacob Carter and Collin Cooper are entered in the event. Carr posted CU's fastest mark in the event this season with a time of 21.92 that he recorded at the Campbell Open.

On the women's side, Racheal Brown will join Brooks and Scott as the trio competes in the 200m dash. Scott owns the fastest time in the Big South this season with a mark of 23.95 that she posted at the Gamecock Invitational on April 16.

Following a dinner break, the Camels will resume competition with the men's and women's 4x100m relays. Chigozie Atavwigho, Carr, Carter and Graham will represent the Campbell men, while Brooks, Jullia Morris, Deonica Reid and Scott are set to compete on the women's side.

Carter and Cooper are also entered in the men's 400m. Cooper most recently went sub-50 at the Duke Invitational with a mark of 49.38 that ranks fifth in the conference this season.

Brown will be CU's lone competitor in the women's 400m, an event where she holds the fastest time for Campbell this season with a mark of 55.31 that was set at the Duke Invitational.

The final track events for Campbell will be the men's 400m hurdles. Atavwigho and Mize are entered for CU and look to build on their respective season-best marks of 53.13 and 58.18.

For the field events, Campbell senior Shenelle McKay will make her triple jump season debut. Noah Tyson is entered in the men's long jump, while sophomore Chase Edwards in CU's lone entrant in the men's high jump. A full breakdown of the events can be viewed at the 'Meet Schedule' link above.
