Veronika Falathova Named Atlantic Sun Women's Golfer of the Month for May

BUIES CREEK, N.C. — Veronika Falathova, who led Campbell to an 11th-place finish at the NCAA East Regional, has been named Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for May.

A freshman from Bratislava, Slovakia, Falathova was Campbell's low finisher at the Regional in 38th place, shooting 75-76-76. The Lady Camels missed making the cut to the NCAA National Championship by just eight strokes, and the showing was Campbell's best finish in a regional since 1997 when CU finished fifth.

Falathova finished the season with a 79.0 scoring average, with her top finish coming at the UNCW Lady Seahawk Invitational, where she tied for 13th place.

Under the direction of head coach John Crooks, the Lady Camels won four tournament titles during the 2004-05 campaign, finished as A-Sun runner-up and advanced to the NCAA regionals for the ninth time in 12 years. Campbell and league champion Georgia State provided the A-Sun with multiple post-season bids for the fourth time in six years.
