Campbell heads to UNF Collegiate

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – Coming off a runner-up finish in its spring opener, Campbell continues its women's golf season next week at the UNF Collegiate.

After finishing second at the Amelia Island Collegiate, Coach John Crooks' Camels are the highest-ranked team in the 16-field at Jacksonville Golf & Country Club.

Eight schools ranked in the Golfstat.com top 100 will compete on the par-72, 6002-yard layout.  Ranked No.-51 in the latest Golfstat listing, Campbell will be paired with No.-60 Old Dominion and No.-75 College of Charleston for Monday's first two rounds.

The 54-hole event begins Monday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start for the first two rounds.  Tuesday's final round is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun.  Live scoring will be available at Golfstat.com.

Ranked No.-51 nationally by Golfstat, Campbell owns the lowest team scoring average (296.13) among Big South schools.  Campbell rates 26th in the country in subpar strokes per round (2.65), 32nd in par-5 scoring (4.96) and 37th on the par-3 holes (3.17).

Coach Crooks' lineup will include junior Annelie Sjoholm, senior Nadine White, sophomore Anna Svanka, junior Ayelen Irizar and freshman Desiree Andersson.  Freshman Stacey White will compete as an individual.

Sjoholm is coming off her first collegiate victory at the Amelia Island Collegiate, where she shot 70-71-69—210 to record the second-lowest 54-hole score in program history.  She is 128th in the nation in the Golfstat Cup (73.73) and is tied for 44th in the nation in par-5 scoring (4.78) and subpar strokes per round (3.33).

Nadine White stands 147th in the country in the Golfstat Cup with a 73.87 stroke average and is coming off a 5th-place tie at Amelia Island (74-72-70—216).  She is the 22nd-ranked golfer in the nation in putts on greens in regulation (1.84) and has reached greens in regulation 69.4 percent of the time (41st in the country).

Svanka owns a 77.0 stroke average following her best finish of the campaign at Amelia Island, where she was even par (73-72-71—216).  Irizar is ranked No.-239 nationally in the latest Golfstat Cup (74.67), while Andersson has recorded a 75.67 scoring average.  Stacey White owns a 75.73 stroke average.

At the 2016 UNF Collegiate, Campbell tied for 3rd in a 17-team event event at 900 strokes, behind only Houston (878) and Texas (888). Nadine White tied for 5th at 3-over 219 (71-74-74), while Sjoholm tied for 14th (74-73-76—223).
