BUIES CREEK, N.C. – For the third time in the last four weeks, Campbell has swept the Big South Conference women's golf weekly awards.

After leading Campbell to a second-place finish at the Briar's Creek Invitational, ahead of nine top-50 ranked teams, Annelie Sjoholm was named Big South co-women's golfer of the week, while Desiree Andersson has been named freshman of the week.

Sjoholm gathered the honor for the third-straight week and the fourth time in the last five after finishing in a tie for third place at 3-under-par (69-74-70—213).  She led the 93-golfer field with 16 birdies while playing the par-3 (T10th) and par-4 (T7th) holes even and finishing 3-under on the par-five layouts.

A junior from Vasteras, Sweden, Sjoholm lowered her stroke average to a Big South-leading 73.13 and registered her fourth top-10 showing of the year.  She ranks 112th in the nation in the Golfstat Cup, is 10th in the country with 81 birdies and 27th in sub-par strokes per round (3.46).

Her performance at Briar's Creek helped Campbell jump from 52nd to 44th in the Golfstat NCAA Division I rankings.  As a team, the Camels are 10th in the country with 309 birdies and tied for 11th in eagles (6).

Only sixth-ranked Florida (277-286-286—849) finished ahead of the 52nd-ranked Camels (282-289-294—867), who led the 18-team Briar's Creek event with 56 birdies.  No.-27 Illinois was third (868), followed by 15th-ranked Miami (870) and No.-42 Auburn (871). Campbell also finished the 54-hole event ahead of No.-32 Texas Tech, No.-26 Ohio State, No.-43 Louisville, No.-35 North Carolina, No.-49 East Carolina and No.-49 East Carolina on the par-71, 6101-yard Golf Club at Briar's Creek layout.

Andersson notched her second top-20 finish of the season with an 18th-place tie (72-71-75—218) while recording her best 54-hole score on the collegiate level at the Briar's Creek Invitational.  The native of Hollviken, Sweden made 12 birdies, tied for ninth in the event, while recording the best two rounds of her collegiate career on the opening day.

Thursday's recognition marked the fifth time Andersson has been named freshman of the week in the Big South this year.  Teammate Stacey White also was chosen Big South freshman of the week Sept. 15 and 29.

Campbell returns to action Apr. 3-4 in the Collegiate at Marsh Landing CC in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
