Day Named Big South Freshman of the Week
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Loren Day has been named the Big South Crons Brand Freshman of the Week for games played April 8-14, announced the league office Tuesday. It is the third time this year the attacker has earned the award.
"This is a great honor for Loren," said head coach Phil Schuman. "As the season wears on, you expect freshman to drop off a bit because they aren't used to the grind of playing at this level for this long. Loren has done the opposite, getting better and more impactful as our season has worn on."
Day led the Camels to their first Big South victory with five goals and an assist in Campbell's 16-13 win over Presbyterian College. She netted a free position goal, one ground ball as well as a game-high six draw controls.
On the season, Day has totaled 31 goals and earned a team-leading 11 assists for 42 points.
Day and the rest of the Camels round out their inaugural regular season Saturday with a 1 p.m. match against Coastal Carolina at Barker-Lane Stadium.
