Duke defeats Wrestling 39-18 Wednesday
DURHAM, N.C. - Duke used four pins and went on to top the Campbell wrestling team 39-18 Wednesday at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Celebrating Senior Night Wednesday, the Blue Devils (2-5-1) won seven individual bouts to claim the victory. Campbell fell to 4-17 overall this year.
Grabiel Soto and Gabe Gardner earned six points each for Campbell in winning by forfeit, but Duke used six straight match wins to seize control of the dual. A.J. Guardado (149 pounds), Ryan Harding (157), Bret Klopp (174) and Diego Bencomo (184) registered pins for Duke on the night.
John Merickel also won by forfeit for CU.
Campbell returns to action Tuesday when it travels to UNC Greensboro. The match is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
