Seeding and brackets released for 2017 NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, IN. – The NCAA has released the brackets for the 2017 NCAA Wrestling Championships set for March 16-18 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo.

Campbell has five competitors who qualified for this year's event, including two Southern Conference champions, Joshua Heil and Quentin Perez.

The freshman Heil won the 141-pound weight class bracket at the SoCon Championships on Saturday, March 4. He is slated to take on Christopher Carton of Iowa. The winner will face the No. 6 seeded Goerge DiCamillo of UVA.

Perez captured the title at 165 at the SoCon Championships last Saturday. He is set to take on No. 16 Nicholas Wanzek of Minnesota in the opening round of the 165-pound bracket.

Nathan Kraisser, runner-up at the SoCon 125-pound bracket, is the lone seeded wrestler for the Camels. He is seeded at No. 16 with a matchup against Jake Gromacki of Clarion.

Ville Heino, second place in the 184-pound weight class at the SoCon Championships, is set to take on No. 10 Michael Macchiavello from North Carolina State.

At 285-pounds, Jere Heino, the runner-up at the SoCon Championships is slotted to take on the No. 6 seeded competitor, Austin Schafer from Oklahoma State.
