Women's Soccer hosts Towson Friday night

The Campbell women's soccer team is unbeaten and has yet to allow a goal in the first two home matches of 2011. The Camels will look to extend that streak tonight when the team hosts the Towson Tigers at Eakes Athletic Complex for a 7 p.m. match.

CU (4-2) is coming off a 2-0 victory over South Carolina State last Friday, and tonight's match will be the last home game before the Camels enter Big South play. Ashley Clark scored her fourth goal of the season in the SCSU matchup and leads CU with 10 points.

Towson (4-2) has two common opponents with the Camels thus far. The Tigers defeated Delaware State in a 2-1 overtime decision, while CU opened the season with a 5-0 victory over the DSU Hornets. Campbell defeated UMBC 3-0 on August 21st, while Towson earned a 3-1 victory at UMBC last Friday. The Tigers have also dropped a 2-1 decision against Big South member High Point in 2011.

The Camels and Tigers met in each of the first two years after the CU women's soccer program was established. Campbell won both of the matchups against the team then known as Towson State in 1992 and '93.

After tonight's match, the CU Marketing & Promotions department will be sponsoring a movie night. "Kicking and Screaming," a 2005 comedy involving youth soccer, will be shown on the field following the conclusion of the game.

Chris Hemeyer, the voice of the Fighting Camels, caught up with head coach Todd Clark and goalkeeper Ryaan Torrero to talk about the home crowd support that the team has experienced so far.
