RICHMOND, Va. – VCU handed Campbell (4-3-0) its second straight loss Sunday in a 4-0 match at Sports Backers Stadium in the VCU Tournament. Junior duo Alexis Prada and Michelle Procaccini were placed on the all-tournament team.

"We started very slowly, and made some very poor decisions defensively," head coach Todd Clark said. "We gave up soft goals and didn't come back. We have the experience that's necessary, but we have to apply that experience and put in the physical and mental effort. We're still doing very good things each game, but making significant mistakes. If we apply our experience we can be successful in the Big South."

The Rams struck first in the fourth minute of play, as Maren Johansen played a through ball in the penalty box to Natalie Moik, who hit the ball past CU keeper Alexis Connors in the lower left corner to make the score 1-0.
Only four minutes later, Moik tabbed her second goal on a header to the lower right net from a Courtney Conrad cross into the box.

In the 22nd minute, VCU took the 3-0 lead when Sharon Wojcik played the pass to Moik, who found the upper left net past CU's second keeper, Samantha Lawson, for her third goal of the day.

The first half ended 3-0, as the Rams outshot the Camels 9-3. Connors and Lawson each registered one save in the half.

The Rams notched their fourth and final goal in the 71st minute, as Alex Gogolin launched a shot from the far right into the left side of the goal.

Campbell finished with five total shots, three on goal, to VCU's 13 shots and 6 shots on goal. Murita Storey led the Camels with two shots and one shot on goal. Caitlin Schneider and Alexis Prada also had one shot on goal apiece.

The Camels will have a 10-day break and will open Big South play at UNC Asheville Wed., Sept. 25 at 4:00 p.m.
