BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After four straight road games, Campbell returns to Eakes Athletic Complex at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday as it hosts Radford. The Camels (4-5-0, 0-2-0 Big South) look to snap a four-game skid as the Highlanders (6-1-1, 2-0-0 Big South) will go after their third-straight league victory.
Camels 2-0 in Buies Creek
Campbell seeks its third-straight home victory, as the team is perfect at Eakes Athletic Complex this season. The Camels are also looking for their first goal since they defeated Francis Marion in the Creek 3-2 on Sept. 7. While on the road, sophomore keeper Samantha Lawson made her first two career starts at UNC Asheville and Liberty recording nine saves in the conference contests. Freshman Lilja Bjork continues to lead the Camels and the Big South in assists with four on the season.
Scouting the Highlanders (6-1-1, 2-0-0 BSC)
Radford is riding a two-game win streak as they took a 1-0 double overtime win from Presbyterian Wednesday and defeated Charleston Southern 2-1 Saturday. Sydney Golden leads the Highlanders with three goals and two assists on the season. Goalkeeper Che' Brown owns a 0.71 goals-against average, making 27 saves on the year, allowing only five opponent goals.
In eight matches played, the Highlanders own the all-time series record 6-2, after defeating the Camels twice in 2012. Last season, the Camels fell at Radford in the regular season 3-0 on Sept. 22. The Highlanders have eliminated CU from the Big South Tournament the past two seasons; in 2012 Radford advanced to the semifinals after defeating the Camels 1-0 and in 2011 the Highlanders defeated the Camels in the championship match 1-0.
