WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Fighting Camels fell in a sweep, 7-0, to the UNCW Seahawks Friday afternoon at the UNCW Courts. The loss moves Campbell to 2-4 on the young spring season.

The match began with doubles play as Lea Cutura and Nina Asanin fell to Barisano/Straume, 6-3. The Seahawks clinched the doubles point with a win on court three over Pauline Roustan and Alexandra Nicoara, 6-1. Alexandra Andrivot and Isabel Boada kept it close on court one, but ultimately fell to Theodossiou/Sillanpaa, 6-4.

Singles play would not go much better for the Fighting Camels. Nicoara came closest to a win as she was able to force a third set against Annika Sillanpaa, who won 6-1, 3-6, 6-2. Roustan forced two tie-breakers in her singles match on court five, but Laura Gomez held the edge as she won, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (4).

Up next, the Camels will return home as both the men's and women's team will host the Spartans of USC Upstate. The action is scheduled to begin at noon on Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Nisbet Tennis Center. For the most up-to-date information on Campbell tennis, follow @GoCamelsTennis on Twitter.
