Camels fall to Spartans, 5-2

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell women's tennis fell at home Saturday afternoon to the USC Upstate Spartans, 5-2. Alexandra Andrivot and Alexandra Nicoara accounted for Campbell's points in the match as they both earned wins in singles play.

Campbell (2-5) did not play a third doubles team, giving CU an early disadvantage in doubles play. Andrivot and Pauline Roustan fell on court one, 6-0, to give the doubles point to the Spartans.

In singles play, Andrivot earned her ninth win of the 2016-17 campaign in three sets over Filippa Ericson, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4. Nicoara's win came on court three as she defeated Eduarda Ferreira in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. Nina Asanin came close to a win on court five, forcing a third set but ultimately falling to Taylor Dodd, 7-6 (4), 3-6, 6-1.
